History
AB Yachts' history began in 1980 when Francesco Guidetti and his wife founded the shipbuilding company Fipa Italiana Yachts. Twelve years later, in 1992, AB Yachts was launched as a distinct brand.
In 2001, the company merged with Fipa Group, which at the time included the Maiora and Intermare shipyards. Subsequently, AB Yachts also acquired CBI Navi, known for its expertise in metal hull construction. In September 2021, The Fipa Group rebranded as Next Yacht Group, retaining ownership of its three yacht brands.
