History
Founded as a family business in 1929 by Hüseyin, a boat-building master, Bilgin Yachts began in the Asian district of Üsküdar in Istanbul. Over the years, the company has shifted its focus towards larger steel yachts, which enabled it to enter the international market in 2002. By 2022, Bilgin Yachts significantly expanded its production capabilities, solidifying its position in the global yachting industry.
Facilities
Bilgin Yachts operates four facilities in and around Istanbul, covering over 60,000 square meters and employing more than 500 specialists:
- Hull and Superstructure Facility in Yalova: Capable of constructing and servicing up to five yachts simultaneously, including two yachts between 85 and 120 meters and three between 50 and 65 meters.
- Ship Equipment Production Workshop: Focuses on outfitting yachts and producing internal furniture and stainless steel components.
- Headquarters and Main Shipyard at West Istanbul Marina: Equipped to build and service up to five yachts at once, including three yachts between 70 and 90 meters and two between 50 and 65 meters.
Range
Bilgin Yachts has released a diverse range of models, with some of the most popular including the Bilgin 263, Bilgin 156, Bilgin 147, Bilgin 132, Indiana Bilgin 127, and RL NOOR Bilgin 123.
Notably, the 50-meter Bilgin Classic 160, designed in the 1920s style, won the World Yachts Trophy in 2012. Another flagship model is the 80-meter M/Y TATIANA, the first of the Bilgin 263 series, developed in collaboration with leading design studios Unique Yacht Design and H2 Yacht Design. Debuting at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, M/Y TATIANA's success led to the construction of a second yacht in the Bilgin 263 series, M/Y LEONA.
Currently, Bilgin is working on the 74-meter Bilgin 243, scheduled for delivery in 2024, and developing a new 85-meter yacht to expand their model lineup.
