History
The story of Broward Marine began in 1948 when Frank and Gertrude Denison purchased the Dooley's shipyard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. However, it was under the Broward Marine name, established in 1953, that the company gained prominence. That year, they launched their first yacht, M/Y STORMY III, designed by the renowned naval architect John Wells. This marked the beginning of Broward Marine's journey into the superyacht industry.
Throughout its history, the shipyard has undergone several ownership changes and struggled significantly during the 2008-2010 economic crisis, leading to a halt in yacht construction and a shift to focusing solely on yacht refits and renovations.
Today, Broward's fleet comprises over 300 hulls.
