In 1982, successful contractor Dave Christensen from Vancouver purchased a 24-meter motor yacht from Westport Shipyards that didn't fully meet his needs. He decided to modify it himself, adapting it to his specifications. Recognizing the potential of the design improvements, Dave established Christensen Shipyards in 1985 and began producing yachts a year later, adhering to strict traditional standards in luxury yacht construction.

In 2015, the company faced financial difficulties and was acquired by co-owner Henry Luce.

Throughout its history, Christensen Yachts has launched 44 yachts.

Christensen Yachts operates a 42,000 square meter production facility on Tellico Lake in Tennessee, featuring 13 assembly bays capable of accommodating yachts up to 60 meters in length.

The company strives to minimize contractor involvement in the production process, including the handling of finishing materials. Christensen Yachts employs modern technologies and advanced innovations, such as vacuum infusion for manufacturing high-strength composite materials.

Christensen Yachts specializes in designing and building custom composite yachts with exclusive interiors crafted by renowned designers.

The company’s flagship is the 50-meter superyacht M/Y D’NATALIN IV, launched in 2014. Among the latest builds are the 49-meter M/Y CHASSEUR and the 50-meter M/Y SILVER LINING, both launched in 2016, as well as the 50-meter motor yacht M/Y JACKPOT, delivered to its owner in 2020.
