A division of the leading Dutch shipbuilder DAMEN Shipyards Group, Damen Yachting is a prominent leader in the production of luxury expedition megayachts made from steel and aluminum, ranging from 55 to 105 meters. The shipyard is also renowned for its auxiliary vessels, designed to provide additional leisure space, transport and store water toys and tenders, and serve as a helipad.

Damen Yachting traces its origins back to 1918, when brothers Jan and Rien Damen established a small boat-building workshop near their family home. It wasn’t until 1927 that the workshop was officially named after its founders—Damen. Over the course of a century, this modest enterprise evolved into the vast Damen Group, a major shipbuilding conglomerate with 35 shipyards and an annual turnover exceeding €2 billion, employing 12,000 highly skilled professionals.
The Damen Yachting brand itself was established in 1991, following the acquisition of the shipyard Amels, thereby becoming an integral part of the larger Damen Group.

Facilities
Damen Yachting operates its Dutch shipyard in Vlissingen City, where it can simultaneously build up to 11 hulls. Additionally, the company has a design facility in Galați, Romania, dedicated to the construction of large and bespoke yacht hulls.

Designers provide the opportunity to customize the exterior, layout, and interiors of the yachts to meet specific client needs, collaborating with leading global designers. For instance, the exterior of the 75-meter hybrid yacht SeaXplorer Custom Hybrid, scheduled for launch in 2024, was developed in collaboration with Michael Leach Design.
The first yacht in the Support Vessel category, the Oberon Support Yacht, was launched in 2009. Recent launches from Damen Yachting include the 45-meter M/Y BAD COMPANY SUPPORT and the 75-meter M/Y ABEONA, both launched in 2023. Additionally, in 2023, the SeaXplorer series welcomed a new 58-meter yacht, M/Y PINK SHADOW.
