Golden Yachts was originally founded in 1982 under the name Goldenport Ship Management as a cargo carrier with its own fleet of container ships and bulk carriers. In 1996, a separate division for yacht design and consulting was established under the Golden Yachts brand. Over time, this division evolved into a full-fledged yacht manufacturing operation. Initially, the construction of the first hulls was outsourced to Turkish shipyard SRN and Chinese factories. However, Golden Yachts later built its own shipyard to handle production in-house.
