History
The history of Hatteras Yachts began in 1959 when Willis Slane, a passionate fisherman and owner of a knitwear factory in North Carolina, founded the shipyard with the goal of building his ideal sportfishing boat.

The first model, the Hatteras 41 Fisherman (known as "Knit Wits"), was an immediate success among anglers and laid the foundation for a series of ocean "convertibles" that were perfect for both weekend leisure and competing in prestigious fishing tournaments. A standout feature of this boat was the use of fiberglass, a cutting-edge material at the time.

In 2013, the ownership of Hatteras Yachts' assets was transferred to Versal Capital Management, LLC.

Throughout its history, Hatteras has launched over 7,600 sportfishing boats of various sizes.
Facilities
Hatteras operates a 60,000-square-meter production facility in New Bern, North Carolina, capable of simultaneously constructing up to six hulls. Additionally, the company owns a yacht center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which includes sales and service areas.
Range
The Hatteras fleet includes planing flybridge sportfishing boats in the GT Sportfish series, ranging from 14 to 22 meters, such as the GT70, GT65 Carolina, GT59, GT54, and 45 Express. The shipyard also offers motor yachts in the Panacera series, spanning 19 to 32 meters, including the 105 Raised Pilothouse, M98, M90, M75, and M60.

Among Hatteras' most popular models are the 36 Sport Fisherman, 70 GT Convertible, 90 Motor Yacht, 50 Sport Deck Motor Yacht, and 58 Tri-Cabin Motor Yacht.
