History
Heesen Yachts began its journey in 1978 when Frans Heesen acquired a small shipyard, Striker Boats, in Oss, Netherlands. His vision was to transform this modest facility into a more powerful and capable enterprise, a goal he achieved fully.

As demand for larger yachts grew, Heesen expanded its offerings in 1992 to include displacement yachts up to 80 meters in length. By 2003, the shipyard increased its production capacity to eight yachts per year with the introduction of a new assembly hall.
Facilities
Heesen's main assembly facility, covering 44,000 square meters and employing over 1,000 skilled professionals, is located in Oss. The facility features nine covered halls dedicated to various stages of yacht construction.
Range
In collaboration with Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Heesen Yachts offers a broad range of displacement and semi-displacement megayachts made from steel and aluminum (FDHF) across the following lines:

  • SERIES – Production yachts with short delivery times
  • SMART CUSTOM – Yachts with pre-built hulls and custom fittings
  • FULL CUSTOM – Tailor-made yachts built to individual specifications

Heesen gained prominence in the early 2000s with the launch of the 37-meter fast Dutch flybridge yacht, Heesen 3700, which led to a series of superyachts with a total of 10 hulls launched.

The largest motor yacht built by Heesen is the 70-meter aluminum yacht M/Y KOMETA, delivered to its owner in 2016. Currently, the shipyard is constructing the 114-meter megayacht M/Y PROJECT COSMOS, set to be launched in 2025.

One of the most celebrated yachts is the 65-meter motor yacht M/Y GALACTICA STAR, launched in 2013, which has earned nine awards, including the World Superyacht Award for Best Semi-Displacement Yacht of 50 meters and above.
Innovation and specialization
In the realm of fuel efficiency and seakeeping, the designers at Heesen Yachts are at the forefront of innovation. They incorporate cutting-edge advancements in yacht building, such as the Hull Vane underwater wing, the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull design, and hybrid diesel-electric propulsion systems. These technologies position Heesen as a leader in optimizing both performance and sustainability in the yachting industry.
