History
Mangusta, founded in 1985 as part of the Overmarine Group by the Baldacci family, has been led by the same family for two generations.
Initially, the company’s open yachts did not exceed 24 meters in length. This changed with the launch of the iconic Mangusta 80 Open, a high-performance yacht with a planing hull that combined exceptional onboard comfort with impressive speed. The success of this model generated a significant demand for Italian high-speed yachts, resulting in over 75 hulls built and establishing Mangusta's reputation for creating highly maneuverable and fast yachts.
In 2016, Mangusta shifted its focus to constructing displacement steel yachts with aluminum superstructures, gradually moving away from its image as a maker of high-speed open yachts. The expansion of their fleet to include models up to 60 meters was marked by the introduction of the Oceano series—three-deck motor yachts with steel hulls—and the GranSport series, with the Mangusta GranSport 45 delivered to its owner in 2018.
In 2022, the shipyard launched the 44-meter, three-deck M/Y Oceano 44 and the first hull of the new REVolutionary 165REV model, featuring revolutionary design by Lobanov Design. This yacht earned a prestigious award at the 2023 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards.
