History
Founded in 1964 by Ramazan Mengi in Ayvansaray, Turkey, the shipyard began its journey by building small fishing boats and gulets. It wasn't until 1985 that it adopted the name **Mengi Yay**, combining the surnames of the two owners following Muzaffer Yay's entry into the business. At the same time, the shipyard relocated its production to Tuzla, Istanbul.
In 2006, Mengi Yay Yachts signed a contract to build its first steel yacht, marking a new era of production and an increase in customer demand. To expand its production capacity and enter the megayacht market, Mengi Yay acquired a shipyard in Yalova in 2012.
Currently, in a phase of dynamic growth, the company is unafraid to experiment with innovative technological solutions and unique yacht designs, leading to noteworthy projects. For instance, in 2016, they launched the 45-meter, three-deck superyacht **M/Y AQUARIUS**, known as the most fuel-efficient in its class, with a fuel consumption of just 60 liters per hour at an economical speed of 8.7 knots, including both generators. The design of this yacht won the titles of "Best Interior Design" and "Best Exterior Design" at the Yacht and Aviation Awards in Venice in 2017.
Throughout its history, Mengi Yay has launched around 200 yachts of various sizes. One of the latest additions to its fleet is the 23-meter **M/Y ZIMA 23**, which has already attracted significant interest from European buyers.

Innovation and specialization
In addition to energy efficiency, Mengi Yay's developers have introduced an innovative hull design with low surface resistance in the Virtus series models. They have also equipped these yachts with FIN stabilizers, which significantly reduce rolling motion and ensure a smooth cruising experience in all sea conditions.
