History
In 1977, Taiwanese entrepreneur Alex Chue received a small shipbuilding company from a business partner as debt compensation. He renamed it Ocean Alexander and began producing new yacht series in collaboration with renowned designer Ed Monk.

The debut model, the Mark 1 yacht, quickly became popular in both the Asian and American yacht markets. This success led to an expansion of production facilities, resulting in the establishment of shipyards in both China and the United States.

The increased demand for Ocean Alexander yachts, a well-established order book, excellent yacht quality, and unique design criteria contributed to the company being ranked among the top five yacht manufacturers in the world by Showboats International in 2015.

Since 2018, the company has focused on the American market, with over 70% of the yachts produced at Ocean Alexander's facilities being delivered to clients in the United States.
Facilities
Today, Ocean Alexander operates production facilities in Taiwan and the United States (with the U.S. facility opened in 2016), along with a global network of service centers.

The company has its own design office, capable of bringing most client visions to life. Additionally, the shipyard is open to collaborating with external architects and designers upon customer request.
Range
Ocean Alexander offers clients semi-custom yachts ranging from 26 to 36 meters across four series:

  • Explorer – expedition yachts (28–31 meters)
  • Revolution – displacement motor yachts (26–35 meters)
  • Legend – semi-displacement superyachts (32–36 meters)
  • Puro – explorer-type motor superyachts, represented by the 35P model.

The flagship of the shipyard is the 34-meter M/Y TRI-LEVEL, which was shortlisted for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards in 2015 and recognized as a leading contender in the "Concept Yacht up to 40 meters" category.
