History
The history of Picchiotti dates back to 1575, when the Picchiotti family received a license to build boats in the Tuscan town of Limite sull'Arno. Initially, the shipyard focused on building commercial and military vessels. However, at the start of the 20th century, Picchiotti ventured into the leisure sector. In 1902, it launched its first motor yacht, L'ESPRESSO, followed by *ESPERO* in 1905.

By the mid-20th century, the shipyard began to attract clients interested in superyachts. Notable launches from this period include the 36-meter M/Y KON TIKI in 1947 and the 42-meter M/Y SOLITAIRE in 1955. In 1982, Picchiotti built its largest motor yacht to date—the 104-meter M/Y AL SAID (now M/Y AL MABRUKAH).

In the early 2000s, Picchiotti was acquired by Perini Navi, leading to a shift in strategy and the launch of the new Vitruvius series. However, by 2017, the Picchiotti brand was phased out in favor of Perini Navi.

As of January 2022, Picchiotti became part of The Italian Sea Group, under the leadership of Giovanni Costantino.
Facilities
The Picchiotti shipyard is located in La Spezia, covering a total area of 32,000 square meters. It features three assembly hangars, specialized workshops, two ship lifts with capacities of 200 and 820 tons, and two 50-meter dry docks, providing comprehensive facilities for the construction and maintenance of custom and semi-custom motor superyachts.
Range
As part of The Italian Sea Group, Picchiotti continues to build custom and semi-custom motor superyachts in steel and aluminum up to 73 meters. The flagship of the Picchiotti fleet remains the 104-meter motor megayacht M/Y AL MABRUKAH, launched in 1982.

Among the brand's renowned yachts is the 50-meter superyacht M/Y EXUMA, which won "Motor Yacht of the Year" at the 2011 World Superyacht Awards. Another standout is the 55-meter ice-class superyacht M/Y GALILEO G, launched in 2011. The largest yacht of the Picchiotti Vitruvius series, the 73-meter megayacht M/Y GRACE E, garnered multiple awards, including the Baccarat Trophy at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2014, the Show Boats Design Awards in 2015, and the World Superyacht Awards in 2015.
