History
Cantieri Navali San Lorenzo was founded in 1958 in the town of Ameglia and originally specialized in building wooden boats. In 1972, the company was acquired by Giovanni Jannetti, under whose leadership the shipyard successfully transitioned to the production of fiberglass yachts. In 1995, Sanlorenzo launched its first superyacht, the 32-meter SL 100.

In 2005, Massimo Perotti acquired a controlling stake in the company, leading to a rebranding and a renewed focus on the superyacht segment. Perotti's strategic direction dramatically increased Sanlorenzo's turnover and brought significant success to the company.

In 2017, Sanlorenzo introduced the first yacht in its Steel range, Seven Sins, showcasing the shipyard's expertise in customizing large yachts. With its elegant exterior and luxurious interior, designed by Officina Italiana Design, Seven Sins embodies the elegance and craftsmanship that Sanlorenzo is known for.

By 2019, Sanlorenzo ranked second in the world for the production of yachts over 24 meters, earning the title of the "most prolific single-brand yacht builder in the world" according to Boat International. That same year, the company went public on the Milan Stock Exchange, achieving a market capitalization of €1.34 billion by 2023.

Over its more than half-century history, Sanlorenzo has built approximately 1,000 yachts.
Facilities
Sanlorenzo operates three production facilities, all located in neighboring towns along the Ligurian Sea coast:

  • Ameglia: This is the headquarters and main shipyard, where medium to large yachts are built, composite hulls are produced, and facilities for yacht maintenance and refitting are located.
  • Viareggio: This shipyard specializes in the construction of composite motor yachts up to 30 meters in length.
  • La Spezia: This facility is dedicated to the production of superyachts.

Additionally, Sanlorenzo has a research and development center for new models located in Massa.
Range
As demand for larger and more luxurious yachts continues to grow, Sanlorenzo has expanded its fleet with new offerings.

The superyacht lineup includes four distinct ranges:

  • Alloy: These all-aluminum yachts boast impressive performance and speed. The Alloy line is a continuation of the composite SL series.
  • Steel: Featuring luxurious interiors, the Steel range consists of steel yachts from 44 to 73 meters in length.
  • Explorer: Expedition yachts designed for long-range autonomy, perfect for adventurous cruising.
  • X-Space: This line includes the 44-meter expedition-style superyacht with expansive interior space (495 GT).

Sanlorenzo's composite yacht collection is comprised of three series:

  • SL: A series of planing yachts with flybridges, ranging from 24 to 38 meters.
  • SD: A range of semi-displacement yachts measuring 28 to 38 meters.
  • SX: Launched in 2017, this promising series includes crossover yachts from 24 to 34 meters, elegantly blending elements of a motor yacht with an explorer vessel.
  • SP: The newest series, set to debut in 2024, features the 27-meter SP92 model.

The 64-meter superyacht M/Y ATTILA, from the Sanlorenzo Steel series and delivered in 2019, is one of the shipyard's most remarkable models to date. With striking exterior lines designed by Francesco Paszkowski and interiors by Francesco Guida, this yacht exemplifies Sanlorenzo's ability to create vessels that seamlessly combine style, performance, and comfort.

The flagship of the shipyard is the 68/73Steel model, which varies in length from 68 to 73 meters, depending on the size of the swimming platform, tailored to meet each client's specific requirements.
