History
Entrepreneur Francis Lapp founded Sunreef Yachts in Gdańsk, a city with a rich tradition in naval construction and home to some of the most skilled shipbuilding professionals in Poland.

In 2003, Sunreef Yachts launched the world's first 74-foot A-Class catamaran with a flybridge, marking the beginning of a new era in multihull design philosophy. This innovative approach helped redefine the design and functionality of catamarans.
Facilities
Sunreef Yachts builds its yachts at a production facility in Gdańsk, located on the banks of the Vistula River, providing access to key waterways and the Baltic Sea.

The company’s site includes a well-equipped waterfront with a 300-ton capacity pontoon crane, assembly hangars, storage, and production areas.

In 2023, Sunreef Yachts expanded its operations by acquiring production facilities in the UAE, which has enhanced the shipyard's capabilities and increased its production capacity.
Range
Sunreef Yachts offers three series, which will also be produced at their new facilities in the UAE:

  • Power: Motor cruising catamarans ranging from 18 to 24 meters.
  • Sailing: Sailing catamarans ranging from 15 to 25 meters.
  • Ultima: Ultra-modern catamarans with hybrid propulsion systems, ranging from 14 to 27 meters.

Each model in these series is available in a version incorporating green technologies.

The shipyard also operates in the superyacht segment, offering both sailing and motor catamarans made of fiberglass, from 29 to 64 meters.

Sunreef Yachts announces at least two new models each year, providing extensive customization options for deck layouts and interiors.

Their catamarans attract high-profile owners, including Rafael Nadal, who owns the 24-meter M/Y GREAT WHITE, and Fernando Alonso, who owns the 60 SUNREEF POWER ECO.

In 2023, the shipyard introduced three new models: the SUNREEF 70 ECO ONE PLANET, SUNREEF 80 ECO, and SUNREEF 80 ECO.
Innovation and specialization
Sunreef Yachts is known for setting new trends in yacht design, construction, and technology. In 2008, the company launched the world’s first two-deck catamaran with transoceanic range, the 70 Sunreef Power Jambo, capable of traveling 8,000 nautical miles. In 2010, they unveiled one of the largest sailing cruising catamarans, the two-deck SUNREEF 102 IPHARRA.

Sunreef was among the pioneers in integrating solar panels into curved carbon fiber bimini roofs and using a folding carbon fiber mast on their catamarans.

The shipyard is also renowned for building record-sized catamarans. In 2023, Sunreef announced the construction of the 50M SUNREEF EXPLORER, measuring 50 meters in length and 14.3 meters in width, making it the largest catamaran ever built by the shipyard and globally.
