History
Trinity Yachts traces its roots back to the 1970s when John Dane III, an Olympic sailor who led the shipbuilding company Halter Marine, identified a growing trend in the maritime industry and a rising demand for non-commercial vessels. This insight prompted the development of a new production line focused on building luxury yachts, which eventually led to the founding of Trinity Industries in 1988. This new venture brought together three shipyards: Halter Marine, Equitable (formerly Higgins Shipyard), and Moss Point Marina.
In 1995, Trinity Industries merged with Victory Lane Enterprises, owned by the Sabates family. This fruitful partnership resulted in several new projects, including the "Magic" series, highlighted by the superyacht M/Y NOBLE HOUSE, which made a significant splash at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The success of these new models helped Trinity Yachts build a solid order book for several years by the early 2000s. As a result, Trinity's partners, Billy Smith and Felix Sabates, decided to purchase the brand and focus exclusively on building custom luxury yachts.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina caused severe damage to the shipyard in New Orleans, forcing the company to act quickly. Within a week, they acquired a new production facility in Gulfport, Mississippi, and continued construction on the remaining hulls at this new location. One of the "surviving" yachts was the 49-meter M/Y ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM, which was completed that same year and went on to win the prestigious "Best in Show" award.
