History
Wider was founded in 2010 by Tilli Antonelli, the former director of Pershing and Itama (Ferretti Group), in the Italian town of Castelvecchio di Monteporzio. The launch of their first model, the Wider 42—a day cruiser with a transforming hull—in 2011, was a tremendous success. It was featured in the prestigious ADI Design Index and won the AIM Marine Group Editor's Choice Awards and the Robb Report Best of the Best, which inspired the development of a new series of aluminum superyachts.
In 2012, Malaysian company Exa Limited acquired a 50% stake in the manufacturer, and five years later, it purchased the entire Wider company. This led to the opening of a new shipyard in Fano and the start of production for the Wider 150, which later received a top COMF (Y) rating of 100/100. In 2019, Wider Yachts was acquired by the holding company W-Fin Sarl.

Facilities
Wider operates two production facilities: the headquarters, shipyard, and design center, Wider Centro Stile, are located in Fano, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. In Porto Marghera (Venice), the superyacht construction center is situated on a 10,000-square-meter site.
Range
Wider offers its clients semi-custom yachts, catamarans, and tenders made from fiberglass, steel, and aluminum, featuring extendable hulls up to 62 meters in length. There is also the option to create a superyacht and tender in a cohesive design style.
Currently, the Wider fleet includes the superyachts Wider 150 and Wider 165, as well as the WiderCat 92, which is scheduled for launch in 2024. The company is also building the superyacht Moonflower 72, set for delivery in 2025. Additionally, Wider has announced three new projects: the Wider 135, Wider 170, and Wider 210.

Innovation and specialization
The name Wider itself highlights a key feature of most of the shipyard’s models—the patented extendable hull design, which significantly enlarges the yacht’s beach club area.
Wider was one of the first manufacturers in the superyacht segment to integrate azimuth thrusters with a diesel-electric propulsion system. This innovation allowed for more efficient use of interior space, enhanced maneuverability, and significantly reduced noise and vibration in the salon.
Additionally, Wider was among the pioneers in implementing artificial intelligence for managing yacht energy systems, optimizing energy consumption and enhancing travel comfort.
